what you should know
Those who do not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them. George Santayana

“In one year, the conditions were so reversed that the era of prosperity ended, and a depression set in, to such an extent that the streets of the Colonies were filled with unemployed…The colonies would gladly have borne the little tax on tea and other matters had it not been that England took away from the colonies their money, which created unemployment and dissatisfaction. The inability of the colonists to get power to issue their own money permanently out of the hands of George III and the International Bankers was the prime reason for the Revolutionary War.” – Benjamin Franklin

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” –Thomas Jefferson

“The rich will strive to establish their dominion and enslave the rest. They always did. They always will… They will have the same effect here as elsewhere, if we do not, by the power of government, keep them in their proper spheres.”- Gouverneur Morris author Constitution of the United States

“Let me issue and control a nation’s money and I care not who writes the laws.” – Mayer Amschel Rothschild, International Banker

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes… Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” – Napoleon Bonaparte

“It is not our own citizens only who are to receive the bounty of our government. More than eight millions of the stock of this bank are held by foreigners… is there no danger to our liberty and independence in a bank that in its nature has so little to bind it to our country?… Controlling our currency, receiving our public moneys, and holding thousands of our citizens in dependence… would be more formidable and dangerous than a military power of the enemy. If government would confine itself to equal protection, and, as Heaven does its rains, shower its favour alike on the high and the low, the rich and the poor, it would be an unqualified blessing. In the act before me there seems to be a wide and unnecessary departure from these just principles.” – Andrew Jackson

well done , how long until the plebeians wake up to the reality of the current situation

EXCELLENT quotes. Funny how some education authorities in the US are trying to write Thomas Jefferson out of history and undermine his contribution to the founding philosophy. I wonder why.

In the UK, the Fabian society is warning of a return to Victorian levels of poverty.

    Amusing cards.

      Hello Madam Miaow

Glad you enjoyed the quotes; wise words from some great thinkers.

I think in the US there is a classic battle going on between the Jeffersonians and Hamiltonians – those who are for liberty and those who are all about money and control.

It’s hard to believe that the UK will return to the levels of a Dickens Tale, but I think Orwell painted a picture of how that could be possible. It’s all very daunting.

I hope I’m not being foolish is believing that people will eventually rise to the occasion like they have done in the past. I hope, I hope.

      Education is everything.

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words
